Very dark and not bitter, September 27, 2012

"I love dark coffee, but hate the bitterness that is often present in darker coffees. Kicking Horse Kick Ass Dark is very dark but very smooth. I had my second cup this morning and it was great. There is not bitterness going down or bitter aftertaste. The beans are quite oily, so don't be surprised when you open the bag."

We appreciate a dark roast, a heavy aroma and of course intense flavor. This coffee lacked in all departments. Like previous reviews I will agree it is a very oily bean so be aware of that as well. For us...not kick ass at all. Will not buy again in fact I'm glad the gigantic bag finally ran out today!"

I bought this Donut Shop Medium Roast, K-Cup for Keurig Brewers coffee because I liked the idea of the frustration-free packaging and I love to try new coffees. I am a fan of Green Mountain coffee, but sometimes I want a coffee that is just a tad bit more mellow. This coffee is just that. Donut Shop coffee has a wonderful bold flavor without bitterness or acidity. 

It is great for my first cup of the day and my after dinner cup. I shared my Donut Shop coffee with my sister and now she too is a fan. I highly recommend Coffee People's Donut Shop coffee. And the frustration-free packaging is a great bonus.
