Amazingly Great Taste and Flavor! Reviews Coffee Bean Direct Italian Roast Espresso, Whole Bean Coffee

Excellent coffee. Coffee Bean Direct Italian Roast Espresso is full bodied and complex. We use it in our drip coffee maker and in our chemex coffee pot. The drip version is comparable to a decent coffee house blend but this coffee reaches it's true potential with a chemex coffee pot or a french press.

I love the fact that they put the roast date on the pkg. I received these on Jan 6, They were roasted (349 12)--Dec 19. They are older than the others but still fresh enough to not bother roasting myself. This bag did come vacuum sealed the others didn't. Which probably helps to prevent the rancid taste you get from "store bought beans".

  • Coffee is roasted fresh immediately prior to packaging
  • Coffee beans are slow-roasted to bring out a fuller, more even flavor
  • Whole bean coffee stays fresher longer
  • Coffee beans are packaged to ensure optimal freshness

Coffee Bean Direct Italian Roast Espresso might be a little strong for those that like a milder coffee but you can reduce the amount you grind to compensate. We use a burr grinder with different grinds for different brewing methods. The price may seem a bit high but 5 pounds of coffee lasts us a month so it comes out to a little over a dollar a day for our coffee.

You will get a "bitter" espresso if your grind is too fine. It seems many people grind beans at the wrong setting. Using my burr grinder I set at medium to get a "sugar grain" size grind for the first test. I can go down to the highest fine setting but I don't find that setting as tasty as the medium setting.

Crema is easy to get so testing for flavor is the my procedure. Crema is more plentiful at my medium settings using my pump espresso machine. This the best bean I've used in 3 years of pump espresso experience. Best taste. Best crema. I don't use sugar or any sweetner. Mostly black (cafe noir) but I do use half-and-half (cafe au creme) or 3% milk (cafe au lait) as well. I can make a chocolate coffee by adding real chocolte syrup.

Your grinder may be different. So may be your taste. If you grind Coffee Bean Direct Italian Roast Espresso too fine the shot is bitter, crema is less, and water flow may be poor even seeming to stop as though something is wrong with the machine.
